Filled with anticipation, the day began with many caring volunteers to help with check-in at 10am at Tijeras Creek Golf Course. The atmosphere was alive with excitement as the 122 golfers checked in, loaded the carts as foursomes and headed out to their designated starting points, ready for the shotgun start at noon. Donations continued to trickle in throughout the morning, as other friends, family members and neighbors dropped by to offer checks, more raffle and silent auction items, a handpainted poster, and of course, what was most important: the gift of their love, friendship and compassion. The helicopter drop was an exciting event, as the balls were dropped from two different buckets, and the winning ball, number 1179, was the official hole-in-one! The evening concluded with a buffet dinner, presentation of the prizes, the raffle and the silent auction. Approximately $18,500 was raised!
